5 Paraghraph Debate Essay

If lawmakers did decide to make homosexuality illegal would they do with them? Would they put them in jail? Aren’t our prisons already filled with real criminals? As a citizen of the United States of America aren’t we allowed the inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness as listed in our Constitution? A person’s right to be a homosexual is a freedom protected by the Constitution.

A person in the United States is allowed to choose their friends without any intercessions of the government. Why then should the government intercede on someone’s personal life by means of illegalizing their sexual preferences? It would be a holocaust on personal freedoms. It would be the beginning of the end of our constitution.

What makes a criminal? A person who performs an act of violence against another human being is a criminal. How can this compare to being a homosexual? The choice to become a homosexual only affects the individual making the choice. They are not keeping or taking another person’s freedoms or committing violent acts against other people. There really is no comparison to be made.

The First Amendment states that we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If a person is happy being a homosexual what right then does the government have to oppose their decision? Wouldn’t illegalizing homosexuality then contradict the First Amendment? Liberty is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as the state of being free, a right or privilege. Therefore, our government allows us the freedom to choose what makes us happy.

A person’s freedom to choose to be a homosexual is protected by the Constitution. Our country was built on a set principal’s that endowed us with the right to choose our sexual preference. The purpose of the Constitution was to allow our citizens the freedom of choice. This included the freedom religion and speech. We as citizens of the United States of America are bonded together by a set of documents created to protect us from government taking away our freedoms.

Book Review: Magyk

Magyk is written by Angie Sage. Throughout this book a girl named Jena is running away from an assassin with her older brother, dog, dad, and the extraordinary wizard. The plot thickens when the assassin finds their trail.

This book is about adventurous team made up of a working family of wizards, creatures, and some humans. The reason I say adventurous is because they go through a lot to get Jena, the main character to her Aunt Zelda’s house safely. In the book they all show a lot of teamwork to help Jena out. Jena’s parent’s also show a lot of love and care for her.

It is very hard for me to say my favorite part. One of my personal favorite parts is when they find the thousand year old dragon boat. Just the way Angie explains what the boat looks like you’ll probably imagine the most beautiful boat you’d ever think of. The boat is found by the characters Jena, Jena’s older brother and Boy 412. That’s what my favorite part is.

This book does have a lot of unexpected parts in it. My least favorite part is when the assassin’s assistant shoots the Bogart. In this book the Bogart is a kind and generous creature. The Bogart was my favorite character.

In my opinion this book was enjoyable and left me wanting more. I am looking forward to reading the other six books in this series. I would recommend this book to pre-teens and adolescents interested in magic and adventure.

Book Review: The Little Pirnce

The book the little prince is a very heart warming book. The book is a about a little prince traveling from planet to planet looking for a friend. Eventually he ends up on earth. While on earth he meets a pilot in the middle of the desert. I think the author of the book Antoine de Saint-Exupry created a very like able character.

My personal favorite part of the book is when the little prince visits the other planets. On the other planets the little prince meets many other characters. The other characters end up being all adult’s. Each of the adult’s has an occupation. One of my favorite adults he meets is the geographer.

My least favorite part of the book is that it was short. I personally could have read more, of the heart warming tale. The book has a lot of very good things to teach people and it could teach more. The book was about eighty pages thick. That is the only thing I don’t like about the book.

My opinion of the book is that it’s a very poetic book. The book is a real heart warming book. The book has very good lessons to teach. The book was so poetic that every two pages I read I had to put the book just to process what I had read. Those are my opinions on the book.

Book Review: Hitler's Daughter

The book Hitlers daughter is a historic fiction about a girl named Heidi who is a daughter of Hitler's. Heidi is a kind girl who does not know how bad here father is. In the book Heidi calls here father Duffi ,two things about Heidi is that she is defiantly not at all like the perfect race Hitler was trying to make she was the complete opposite of Hitler's perfect race. Heidi is a short girl with one leg bigger than the other brown with red blocthes and a red blotch on her face in the shape of a fabric iron.

A boy named mark also plays a big role in the book. Mark is a Yong boy who is a friend of Anna's, listening to this story that she made up. In the book, mark starts asking questions to adults around him. Mark is one of the supporting character's.

The story of Hitler's Daughter is made up by a girl named Anna living in Australia. Anna introduces her "story" game to four boy's in the begging of the the book. Anna has a little brother named Little Tracey who is one of the four boys. Anna tells the story to the four boys at the school bus stop in Australia every morning for about two weeks.

The way this book relates to me is that I like history and I like two ask questions, like Mark. I would suggest this book to a person who's likes historic fiction. This book is definitely light reading. It is not really an action book or a thriller. I would say that the book is more of a novel. This book does not talk about Hitler that much.

A History Fanatic

I am a total history lover. I love all sorts of history, such as the World Wars, and fashion. I live for history and it lives for me. History is my life. I love history so much that I learned almost all of my family history. My most favorite part of history is the Revolutionary War, and colonial times.

I like the colonial times because my most favorite historic character lived during that time. My favorite historic character is Ben Franklin. I like Ben Franklin because he is a good example of some one who was a nobody and became a somebody. Ben Franklin is a good example that you can teach your self academics and you can teach your self with out a teacher. That's why I like the colonial times.
